Privlaka, Croatia - holiday information

Privlaka Croatia – tourist information

The small tourist settlement of Privlaka is situated 18km northwest of Zadar, and only 5,5 km from the historical town of Nin with which it is connected by local coach lines Vir-Privlaka-Zadar and Vir-Privlaka-Nin-Zadar-Zagreb. The settlement is situated on a big peninsula.
Because of its magnificent beaches with fairly shallow and warm sea and sandy coves Privlaka is the “it” spot for families vacationing with children. On some of the beaches you can even find therapeutic mud. In the continuation of the mentioned beaches, Škrapavac (on the south side) and Sabunike (on the north side) are the two most famous tourist settlements with bungalows. There you will find café bars, restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, souvenir shops and other entertaining contents for the young ones.
Accommodation comes in various forms so you can take your pick between hotels, private apartments and rooms or camps. For leisure you can take a relaxing walk down a long walk board or drive down an 8km long bicycling route. Privlaka is also a hot spot for surfers, especially Sabunike because of its windy character, and the sport centre Surfmania offers you an opportunity for various sports activities. The settlement has a rich history and remains of medieval churches are standing relics of an older period. Also well known are sabunjari from Privlaka that built Zadar after the 2nd World war with the sand that they extracted from the sea. Like all other coastal towns Privlaka will offer you a rich gastronomic experience and our recommendations are restaurants Planura and Marinko. As a part of the traditional event – Privlačko ljeto – you can be a part of various performances which culminate on the 4th of August in Privlačka noć (Night of Privlaka). Also our recommendation is that while there you visit some of the national parks  PaklenicaSjeverni Velebit, Kornati, Krka and Plitvička jezera , historical towns Zadar and Nin or take a boat excursion to see the islands of the Zadar archipelago. For further information on excursions ask in local tourist agencies.
